Air Duct Cleaning & Tips Wichita KS

Air Duct Cleaning – Residential
Dirty Air Ducts are one of many places that trap dust in a home. Pollutants that enter the home both from outdoor and indoor activities such as cooking, cleaning and smoking can cause additional contamination in the Air Ducts in a home.  Dust enters the home as the doors and windows are opened due to entry and exiting of persons living in a home.  As the dust settles in a home it gets re-circulated through the HVAC system and settles further in the Air Duct system.  Part of having a healthy and clean home is having clean Air Ducts.  If your ducts look dirty, they probably are.  Consider this, if one does not vacuum or sweep their floors, would there be dust build up?  Absolutely, and thus the same for the Air Ducts in your home.
What is Air Duct Cleaning?
Air Duct Cleaning is the process of cleaning the Ducts that provide fresh air that is either heated or cooled through your HVAC system.  It also includes the cleaning of the return Air Ducts that provide the circulation in a home.  The Air Duct systems are the branches to the HVAC system in your home.  Methods of cleaning these ducts vary.  ServiceMaster uses one of the most advanced Air Duct Cleaning Systems available in the industry.  This is a large 3 stage HEPA filtered dual motor and blower assembly vacuum capable of moving 5000 CFM Free Air.  This is assisted by with the “Viper Clean Sweep System” including the “Whip and Blast” and / or “Rotary Brush Cable System”.
Why Clean Air Ducts in your home?
·         Indoor air quality is a concern to many home owners and renters.  As air circulates through the Air Ducts it pulls air through, heats or cools the air and pushes it out through the fresh air vents.  As this process is repeated, the dust and pollutants in your home are circulated.  Some of the dust is trapped in the filter, but as the rest passes through, it settles inside the ducts.  Over time as with any surface, dust particles will attract other dust particles due to static and settle while other particles will get re-blown around the home.  If one sweeps their home and can see dust, they will also observe dust in their vents.  Clean Air Ducts will help keep a home clean.
·         Some research also suggests that clean ducts will help improve the efficiency of your HVAC system.
·         Excessive amounts of debris in the Air Duct System
·         If you experience a Fire, Smoke or in some cases Water Damage in your home, cleaning your Air Ducts is an excellent idea and recommended.  Odor causing particles adhere to the Air Ducts and cause odors in a home.
·         Air Ducts can get insect infestation or rodents, etc., when not in use; therefore they would need to be thoroughly cleaned.
·         Occasionally it is impractical or too costly to replace Air Ducts, so cleaning them professionally can make a difference.
·         Visible and substantial mold growth in Air Ducts would require you get Air Ducts professionally cleaned or replaced.
How often should you clean your air duct systems?
Frequency of cleaning air ducts is dependent on various factors.  It mainly depends on your preference as a home owner.  Some of the things you may want to consider are: (but not limited to)
·         Are there any smokers in the home?
·         Are there any pets in the home and do they shed high amounts of hair and dander?
·         Have you had renovation or remodeling done?
·         Did you just purchase your home or have it built?
·         Have you had any water damage or contamination in your HVAC system?
·         Have you had any smoke or fire damage in your home?
·         How dirty are your vents when you do a visual inspection by removing a fresh air or return register?

  2. If you don’t feel confident cleaning your air conditioner’s coils by yourself, check regularly inside the condenser unit and call a licensed technician when they start looking obviously dirty. Otherwise, clean your air conditioning coils once a year at the start of summer. http://waterdamagerestorationdallastexas.com/hail-damage-repair-arlington-tx/
